An Art Nouveau gilt-bronze candlestick depicting 'Femme à l'iris sur une feuille de nénuphar' by Alexandre Clerget (1856-1931). The draped young woman, with bared breasts and loose hair, in slight contrapposto, holds an iris on her left arm, at shoulder level, forming the bobèche. She rests on a water lily leaf base. Signed "A. Clerget", stamped by Siot-Decauville Fondeur, Paris. XX° period, Circa: 1900 Dim: W:15cm, D:14cm, H:24cm.
