bronze sculpture Brown patina "Sea Fairy" representing a dancing female figure with butterfly wings twirling a drape around her while looking into a hand mirror. Standing on a large conch shell, she seems to be flying away smiling. She is wearing a bun decorated with a shell. The bronze is signed MADRASSI on one of the conch's extensions. The sculpture can rotate on a cherry red marble base.

Luca MADRASSI (1848-1919) was a French sculptor of Italian origin. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris before joining Carrier-Belleuse's studio. Very imaginative, he exhibited at the Salon from 1979 onwards and won numerous awards for his busts and allegorical or genre statues.
