Important bronze sculpture with green shaded patina depicting Cupid, God of love in Greco-Roman mythology, preparing to launch an arrow. He is depicted as a young winged adolescent, carrying a bow and a quiver full of arrows, his attributes. His finely modeled face is framed by the soft curls of his hair, which is encircled by a narrow headband. He is walking and his face is turned to the right, probably towards his target. A minor divinity, Amour has nonetheless inspired artists of every era. Napoleon III period, Circa: 1870 Dim: W:40cm, D:31cm, H:54cm. In very good condition, with slight wear.
