SCULPTURE IN PATINATED BRONZE "TOWARDS THE SOURCE" BY EDOUARD DROUOT (1859-1945)

Current stock : 0

Shaded brown patina bronze proof depicting a draped woman, holding on her head an empty jar decorated with zig-zag and arabesque motifs, walking towards the fountain.

The iconography is very similar toEdouard DROUOT's "Retour de la fontaine (Porteuse d'eau)". The pure forms of this graceful body, her impassive face with downcast eyes, her posture with her left arm resting firmly on her hip, lend monumentality to this Orientalist figure signed "E. DROUOT".
