Black patina bronze statue depicting a young athlete wearing a flowing drapery and his two falcons, on a rocky base. Sometimes associated with Ganymede. In Greek mythology, Ganymede is a handsome teenager kidnapped by Zeus, transformed into an eagle, and transported to Olympus, where he becomes the cupbearer to the gods. Our antique bronze is signed "L. Baralis" on the base. Late 19th century, Circa: 1890 Dim: W:31cm, D:20cm, H:81cm. The sculpture is in very good condition. Note patina discoloration on a falcon's wing.
