Edme Antony Paul Noël, known as Tony Noël : important statue in bronze with brown patina representing Orpheus, mythical poet from Thrace, putting Cerberus to sleep. In Greek mythology, Cerberus is the three-headed dog that guards the entrance to the Underworld. Orpheus managed to bewitch him by playing the lyre to bring his wife Eurydice back to the world of the living. The mythological figure is signed on the base: "Tony Noel". Foundry stamp "THIEBAUT Frères Paris, successors of Fumière et Cie".
