Solid elm coffee table by Pierre Chapo (1927-1987), with rectangular top enclosing red, blue, black and white ceramic tiles. Pierre Chapo's minimalist design derives its beauty and originality from the quality of the materials used and the way the wood pieces are assembled. These are visible and even become ornamental motifs. This technique is very much in evidence on this coffee table with multicolored top and abstract decoration made in the 1960s.
