Louis XVI style dressing table in wood veneer and marquetry, topped by a pivoting mirror framed by two ormolu arms decorated with scrolling foliage. The kidney-shaped top in wood veneer opens on three inlaid drawers. The side drawers open with a bronze knob handle decorated with foliage. The central drawer is closed by a lock. The top rests on four tapered, fluted legs. The ormolu outline of the pivoting kidney-shaped mirror ends in a ribbon bow, typical of Louis XVI-style furnishings. The Louis XVI Style abandons the original curved forms of the Louis XV style for a return to straight lines and light ornamentation. This period of great sobriety and naturalness is characterized by geometric, balanced and well-proportioned forms. XIX° period, Circa: 1900 Dim: W:98cm, D:54cm, H:133cm. Very good condition. The bronzes have been gilded. Slight restoration of the marquetry on the middle drawer.
