A Louis XVI style gilt bronze inkwell depicting Cupid seated, surrounded by timpani, each holding two drumsticks. The circular gilt bronze timpani are draped and rest on three feet. The whole is fixed to an oval base decorated with garlands and claw feet. Circa 1890
