A rectangular 19th-century box, decorated with marquetry of crosshatching within Greek key patterns. The name "Lillie" is inscribed on the lid. It opens with a key via a hinged lid that reveals a storage compartment and can also be used as a writing desk by folding down the central compartment. The writing desk is lined with blue velvet and gilt motifs on black leather. 19th century, circa 1880. Dimensions: L: 32cm, D: 23cm, H: 15cm. Original velvet lining with wear.
