A set of four color lithographs by Orfeo Tamburi depicting the streets of Paris. Each is signed by the artist in pencil and stamped by the art publisher Il Cigno in Rome. These are limited edition prints of 130 produced between 1979 and 1981. They are sold in light wood frames. Artist's Proofs (AP). Each print is accompanied by a booklet of text and drawings illustrating each arrondissement of Paris.
- 7th arrondissement - Palais Bourbon or swift blind men and disabled people playing pétanque, "la Casa Bianca" (the White House), possibly the rue de Babylone
- 8th arrondissement - Elysée or only Paris has a good beak, "Square Saint-Augustin"
- 12th arrondissement - We will no longer go to the woods, the laurels are cut down, "Hôtel de la Nation" Reuilly district
- 19th arrondissement - Villette-Belleville or slaughterhouses and Temple of Love, "la nuvola binuca" (the white cloud) Villette-Belleville district
Orfeo Tamburi (1910-1994) is known for his portraits of urban life. A passionate admirer of Cézanne, he developed a style characterized by warm tones and broad lines. He settled in Paris in 1971 and began to depict the capital. That same year, he received the Italian Gold Medal of Cultural Merit.
