This armchair is from the "1-2-3 System Dining Chair" range developed by Verner Panton in the 1970s. It features an aluminum frame and a removable orange fabric cover, swiveling on a circular base. This particular chair was produced in 1974 by Fritz Hansen. Three other chairs are available; a set is possible. One of the chairs has a small defect that has been repaired with a piece of fabric salvaged from the same chair (the seam is visible). Verner Panton's (1926-1998) "1-2-3 System" series initially comprised 20 different models with variations in seat height, armrests, and base. More than just a series, it is a true furniture system, versatile and offering numerous possibilities. The original commission called for a complete furniture program that combined several different functions with one minimum requirement: exceptional comfort. The armchairs were designed to be simple and natural, allowing them to blend seamlessly into any interior and environment as a functional piece of furniture. Panton spent three years developing this series, resulting in a unique armchair concept that he developed both in terms of design and function, starting from a specific theme. The original armchair featured a lightweight tubular steel frame, a circular steel base, and a removable cover. Some models in the series could be linked together to form rows. This series was complemented by two other systems: the "1-2-3 System Table" and the "1-2-3 System Room Divider." Design Era, Circa: 1974. Dimensions: W: 60cm, D: 60cm, H: 86cm.
