A rosewood buffet with a French polish finish, featuring a raised top and four doors, the two central ones lined with Havana shagreen. Shagreen is a leather made from the skin of cartilaginous fish used in cabinetmaking, leatherwork, and more recently, leather goods. Halfway between leather and mineral, shagreen is covered with silica beads. It comes in various finishes: grainy and glossy, or sanded. The buffet reveals an interior with shelves and drawers mounted in mahogany. It rests on four saber legs, the front feet terminating in silver-plated metal sabots.
