A floor lamp in the form of a column whose body is made of glass tubes resting on a brass base and topped with a glass shade forming a floral bowl. The light fixture is electrified: it has bulbs inside the column as well as in the bowl. Circa 1970.
This Art Deco floor lamp was made in the 1970s from Murano glass. The Murano glass tradition emerged at the end of the 18th century when Venice decided to isolate its glassmakers on the island of Murano to prevent fires in the city. All Murano glass pieces are handcrafted by master glassmakers using ancient, traditional techniques. Murano glass is among the finest and highest quality glass products in the world.
Condition report: In very good condition with a slight dent on the brass base
