An Art Nouveau lamp mounted on a sculpted and chased bronze vase, signed A. Clerget. This lamp, sculpted in relief, features a seated woman forming a handle, a woodland head amidst vine and grape leaves entwining a spout. The stem of this 1900 lamp is stylized with mermaids, supernatural creatures, and fish darting among waves. A white satin pagoda-shaped lampshade surmounts the lamp. The whole rests on a circular marble base. The sculpture is signed Alexandre Clerget (1856-1931), a sculptor and goldsmith of the late 19th century known for his Art Nouveau objets d'art. Circa: 1890
