An elegant mahogany and mahogany veneer stepped desk. The gilt-bronze mounts open with a drawer in the frieze inlaid with a design of leaves and flowers. The front features a drawer with a gilt-bronze handle and compartments forming a letter tray. The legs and top are delicately adorned with gilt-bronze mounts decorated with Art Nouveau irises. The top is re-leathered. Circa 1890
