A Réaumur oval barometer-thermometer in gilded, moulded and carved wood. The frame is decorated with friezes of water leaves and rows of pearls. It is surmounted by a pediment of agrarian trophies and a basket of fruits and flowers. The lower part is decorated with leaves surrounded by a ribbon bow. The thermometer is annotated with remarks on the different temperatures to give a tangible equivalent. The highest temperature corresponds to the temperature of Syria. The dial is signed SORMANY, rue de l'arbre sec in Paris.
