Réaumur oval barometer-thermometer in gilded, molded and carved wood. The frame is decorated with water-leaf friezes and strings of pearls. It is surmounted by a pediment of ribboned agrarian trophies and a basket of fruit and flowers. The lower part is decorated with leaves surrounded by a ribbon bow. The thermometer is annotated with notes on the different temperatures to give a tangible equivalent. The highest temperature corresponds to the temperature in Syria. The dial is signed SORMANY, rue de l'arbre sec, Paris.
Circa: 1790
Condition report: light wear to gilding. Restoration to dial inscriptions. The barometer is in working order. Thermometer no longer works.
