Réaumur barometer-thermometer in giltwood, molded and carved. The frame is decorated with friezes of water leaves and rows of pearls. It is surmounted by a pediment of ribboned agricultural trophies and a basket of fruit and flowers. Below, there is a decoration of leaves enclosed in a ribbon bow. The thermometer is annotated with notes on the different temperatures to provide a tangible equivalent. The highest temperature corresponds to the temperature of Syria. The dial is signed SORMANY, rue de l'arbre sec, Paris.
