BISCUIT "BATHER ON A ROCK" AFTER RAPHAEL NANNINI

A bisque porcelain statuette depicting a nude woman seated on a rock, after the Italian sculptor Raphael Nannini. Marked in relief on the back: "Nannini" and numbered "78," with the impressed stamp of the VTM (Victor Mauger and Tessier) factory. Circa 1900

Raphaël Nannini (19th-20th century) was born in Florence. He practiced his craft as a sculptor in his native city, creating bronze and ivory figures for French companies such as Les Neveux de J. Lehman and Edmond Etling in the early 20th century. He also exhibited at the Paris Salon.
