She is often portrayed with an oil lamp, and her attribute is the butterfly. Here, Psyche is elegantly dressed in a flowing, finely pleated drape that reveals the contours of her body, following the classical model. She wears a high belt and sandals adorned with a Medusa head. Her sophisticated hairstyle is styled in a chignon, supported by a diadem. Imprinted mark under the base: Dione & Baury in Paris (registered in 1876). Late 19th century, circa 1890. Dimensions: W: 26cm, D: 32cm, H: 80cm. In good overall condition, with some black stains on the base.
