Large bookcase composed of twelve overlapping glass panels resting on a brass frame. Created by the Dutch designer Kim Moltzer (1938-2015). This bookcase, typical of the 1970s, can also be used as a room divider. Good condition. From birth, Kim Moltzer was immersed in an extraordinary cultural environment. Born in Berlin in 1938, he was Dutch but grew up in South America, where his parents settled when he was two years old. His entire artistic output bears the mark of this childhood, shaped by the lush vegetation of Brazil and the landscapes of the Andes Mountains. As a young adult, he returned to Europe and began his higher education in Switzerland before continuing it in Paris at the Institut d'Études Politiques (Sciences Po). His connection with the architect Jean-Paul Barray allowed him to pursue his true passion: the design and creation of furniture. Together, they founded ECFI (Études Construction Formes Industrielles), a company specializing in the design of professional spaces and apartments. Throughout his career, Kim Moltzer worked with a wide variety of materials, from cardboard to bronze, including wood and glass. His style is entirely original, and his furniture production is therefore completely unclassifiable. Design Era, Circa: 1970. Dimensions: W: 152cm, D: 48cm, H: 202cm.
