A bronze sculpture with a brown patina depicting Mercury seated on a tree trunk, holding a sword and a panpipe. Mercury is the Roman god of commerce, travel, and messenger of the gods, equated with the Greek Hermes. He rests on a stepped circular base. Signed on the base "MARIUS MONTAGNE". Napoleon III period. In good condition, with a lovely patina. 19th century, circa 1860. Dimensions: W: 31cm, D: 46cm, H: 69cm.
