bronze sculpture brown patina by Charles-Alphonse Gumery, depicting a smiling young woman, welcoming at arm's length two doves. She is represented naked, wearing a drapery supported by a shoulder strap. This bronze statuette is signed "Gumery ROME".
Charles Gumery most probably made this bronze during his stay at the Villa Medici in Rome.

Condition report: bronze is in very good condition, with a nice patina with golden highlights. Trace of assembly at the level of the right arm, result of the technique of sculpture used: the lost wax casting. With this process, the different elements of a statue (arms, legs, torso, etc.) are melted separately and then assembled.
