BRONZE "FAME" SIGNED JULIEN CAUSSE

bronze sculpture with a brown patina by Julien Causse depicting "Fame ." This draped young woman, her shoulders bare, blows into a reed-shaped trumpet. She appears to be emerging from a leafy rock. Her hair is tied in a loose chignon. Fame is an allegory personifying public recognition. The figure is signed on the base J. CAUSSE. The entire piece rests on a rotating red marble plinth.

Julien Causse (1869-1909) was a French sculptor known for his delicate female figures. He studied under Alexandre Falguière. He received an honorable mention at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1892 and at the Exposition Universelle in 1900.

Condition report : In good overall condition. Wear consistent with age and patina. Minor restoration to the marble base.
