Her hair is tied in a loose chignon. Fame is an allegory personifying public recognition. The figure is signed on the base J. CAUSSE. The entire piece rests on a rotating red marble plinth.
Julien Causse (1869-1909) was a French sculptor known for his delicate female figures. He studied under Alexandre Falguière. He received an honorable mention at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1892 and at the Exposition Universelle in 1900.
