A bronze statue with a black patina depicting a young athlete draped in flowing fabric and his two falcons, on a rocky base. Sometimes associated with Ganymede. In Greek mythology, Ganymede is a beautiful youth abducted by Zeus, who had transformed himself into an eagle, and transported to Olympus, where he became the cupbearer of the gods. Our antique bronze is signed in relief on the base: "L. Baralis". Late 19th century, circa 1890. Dimensions: W: 31cm, D: 20cm, H: 81cm. The sculpture is in very good condition. Note some discoloration of the patina on the wing of one of the falcons.
