A bronze bust of a young woman from the Belle Époque, with a gilt patina, rests on a green Alpine marble base atop a gray Sainte-Anne plinth. The smiling young woman wears a ribbon tied around her neck and also in her hair, which is styled in a high bun. The focus is on the neckline of her blouse, adorned with flowers. It almost seems as if her smile emerges from a bouquet of blossoms. Signed and engraved "V Bryneel Paris" on the back.

Victor Léopold BRUYNEEL was a Belgian sculptor born in 1859 who worked in Paris and mainly produced female busts.

Height of the bronze: 40 cm.

Condition report: some light wear to the patina and some chips to the marble.
