Bust of a beautiful woman in a corset held in place by a bow, with her face turned to the side exposing her profile. This beautiful marble sculpture is signed "Allouard" on the reverse.

Henri Émile Allouard, known as Henri Allouard, born in Paris in 1844, was first a bookseller before he was able to make a living from his art. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes from 1865 to 1928. During his long career, he explored different materials: marble, bronze, terracotta and ivory. He also painted classical subjects such as landscapes and still lifes.
