A direct-carved Carrara marble sculpture of a "Dreaming Child's Bust." The head and gaze are turned to the left, with a mischievous expression and flowing, curly hair. The lower part of the child's bust extends onto the Portoro marble base. Circa 1908
Jean-Marie CAMUS (1877-1955) was born in Clermont Ferrand. A student of Barrias and Coutan, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris from 1900 and received a gold medal "hors concurrence" in 1931.
Condition report: Good overall condition. Minor chips to the Portoro marble (base).
