A medium-sized, shaped Boulle marquetry table in brass on red tortoiseshell, with rich gilt bronze mounts. The top is bordered by a finely chased molding of alternating egg-and-dart and foliage motifs. The table is decorated with satyr heads in the center of the rails on the long sides, and Maenad heads on those on the short sides. It rests on four cabriole legs adorned with espagnolettes, a decorative motif typical of the Regency and Louis XV periods, and terminating in sabots. The top is protected by a glass surface. Napoleon III period, circa 1860. Dimensions: L: 147cm, D: 90cm, H: 73cm. In very good condition.
