Opaline Dolphin Clock, Charles X

A rare white opaline glass clock with a gilt and chased bronze mount adorned with two entwined dolphins. Their tails support the fluted, spherical upper section of white opaline glass, which houses a gilt bronze dial with Roman numerals, embellished with a frieze and a floral medallion. The dolphins recline on the oval body with vertical fluting. The whole rests on a gilt bronze base decorated with a palmette frieze and supported by four claw feet. The wire suspension mechanism has been serviced. Charles X period.

In good overall condition; discreet cracks under the bronze dial.
