A Charles X period dressing table in wood veneer with a pivoting octagonal mirror (the back of the mirror is covered in crimson fabric). It opens with a large drawer in the frieze and rests on two straight side supports. The top is white veined marble. This piece is inlaid with light wood stringing and adorned with fluted moldings interspersed with florets, scrolls, and palmettes in chased and gilded bronze. The ornamentation, light and refined, emphasizes the structure of the piece. It is complemented by several carved wood motifs: chimeras, tulips, florets, and foliage. Our dressing table is on casters, allowing for easy movement. It is part of a set that includes a Charles X period bed. Good overall condition with a small chip to the mirror frame. Charles X period, circa 1820. Dimensions: W: 93cm, D: 47cm, H: 137cm.
