Pair of antique ormolu and chased bronze andirons, with acanthus leaves, foliage scrolls, openwork egg-and-dart frieze and balusters. This rich Rocaille-style décor is topped by a bust of a winged woman. Andirons are fireplace accessories that support the logs so they don't smother the fire. These fireplace accessories are sometimes accompanied by an ash-keeper bar and a chimney screen. Our andirons were made in the second half of the 19th century. Circa: 1860
