He was born in Paris in 1902 and quickly abandoned his studies to work as a bookbinder in publishing, then turned to advertising and graphic arts. He published his first works in 1935. He won the Grand Prix for theater posters. He created illustrations for Jean Cocteau, Maurice Ravel, and Guillaume Apollinaire. It was Jean Lurçat who encouraged him to create his first tapestry cartoons, and together they contributed to the revival of tapestry from 1947 onwards. Picart Ledoux became a grand master of Aubusson tapestry and created the monumental tapestry "The Phases of Time" for the ocean liner France. Presented in a beautiful giltwood frame. Condition report: Good overall condition. A small tear on the edge of the lithograph near the red ball. Mat as is.
