Oval polychromeporcelain bowl, decorated with a polychrome cartouche with gold frame, depicting a couple seated in the grass by a lake. The woman is fishing while her young lover plays the flute. The leafy handles are accented with gold. The edges of the porcelain are decorated with a book and a bundle of straws in reserves on a blue background. The book symbolizes reading and leisure, while the straw bale evokes nature and farming activities.

Apocryphal Sèvres mark under the base, probably Samson.
