An oval-shaped covered porcelain pot in the Sèvres style, with a sky-blue ground and polychrome decoration of birds on branches, within reserves highlighted by crosshatching and scrolling foliage painted in gold. The lid handle is twisted. The gilt-bronze mount is richly ornamented with masks, acanthus leaves, and foliate scrolls. The handles, which extend to the base, are covered with flowering branches and foliage. This porcelain rests on a base with curved sides and four fluted ball feet. Apocryphal Sèvres mark. 19th century, circa 1850. Dimensions: L: 24cm, D: 12cm, H: 21cm. The porcelain is in very good condition, with a firing crack inside the sugar bowl. There is a small original flaw on the bronze base.
