A pair of covered decorative porcelain vases, decorated with harbors within reserves framed in gilt against a background of blue scales and scattered flowers. The handles are in the shape of roses. The mounts are in chased and gilt bronze, decorated with openwork interlacing and foliage. The handles are decorated with lion heads. Each vase rests on a foot adorned with acanthus leaves and four rectangular feet with Egyptian heads holding klafts (a type of hat). Marked by the Volkstedt-Rudolstadt Manufactory (Germany, Thuringia). 19th century, circa 1840. Dimensions: L: 16cm, D: 13cm, H: 20cm. Both vases are in good overall condition, with slight wear to the gilding.
