Mahogany in Empire furniture
Mahogany furniture was a staple during the Empire period. Whether solid or veneered, mahogany wood was abundant because it could be worked in various ways (flamed, moiré, etc.), which allowed for very attractive contrasts when combined with bronze ornamentation.
Condition report: Very good condition. Restorations and French polish. The entire tapestry is new.
