A Louis XVI style set comprising a cup and two Sèvres porcelain vases with a deep blue ground . The pieces are mounted in gilt and chased bronze with handles decorated with grotesque masks and scrolls. The ground is decorated with interlacing patterns and enameled beads. The vases are painted with putti in clouds, playing with drapery or floral wreaths, set within medallions adorned with turquoise enameled beads. They rest on pedestals decorated with white enameled beads and small flowers. The bronze finials are gadrooned. The cup features putti playing within reserves and baskets overflowing with flowers. The lid is decorated with two scenes: a gallant scene with a young man playing the flute and a landscape. The gadrooned finial has a floral design on the underside. The reverse of the lid bears the mark of the Tuileries Castle and the Sèvres Manufactory from the year 1846.
Circa: 1850
