rectangular Baccarat crystal box , finely cut and engraved, dating from the 19th century. Its mount is silvered bronze. The lower section is decorated with gem motifs within lozenges. The upper section features cut floral friezes within lozenges around the edges. The lid is engraved with vegetal scrolls surrounding a central sunflower. The keyhole escutcheon is metal.
The Baccarat has been world-renowned for its splendid crystal objects since its founding in 1764 by King Louis XV. Today, Baccarat is considered the largest crystal manufacturer in Europe.
