Georges Frydman's EFA secretary desk in lacquered wood and rosewood, with an aluminum and black lacquered metal frame. It features two sliding wooden cabinets, a sliding glass shelf, and a drop-front revealing a small drawer and several storage compartments. The secretary's drop-front and the doors of the upper cabinet are lacquered wood in blue, black, and cream. In good condition, with some signs of wear. Georges Frydman was a 20th-century French designer whose creations belong to the functionalist and modernist movement. Heir to the renowned Bauhaus and a protégé of Le Corbusier, he proposed, through his research and designs, a new way of living, a new art of inhabiting. In 1954, with the painter Louis Solères, he founded the company EFA (Equipment for Functional Housing) in Nice, which has since produced all his designs.
