A Charles X period gilt and chased bronze clock depicting a winged genius playing the lyre amidst acanthus leaves populated by dolphins. The dial, adorned with two nymphs holding a lyre on an altar, indicates the hours in black Roman numerals. The oval base features motifs of musical trophies and a laurel wreath and rests on four small fluted feet decorated with flowers. The pendulum is adorned with a finely chased butterfly. The whole is set on a black wooden plinth. Dynamically composed, this clock possesses a lyrical dynamism that lends it great elegance.
