A low Louis XVI style display in carved walnut, opening with two doors to reveal glass-fronted shelves and four double-bottomed drawers containing a cutlery set. The cabinet is adorned with a wide frieze of gilt and silvered bronze decorated with scrolling foliage and a sunflower at its center. The top is covered with a sea-green marble slab. The piece is signed G. Ludovic in the center of the pediment.
The set with a floral design consists of 179 pieces including: 12 table settings, 12 dessert forks, 9 small knives, 12 teaspoons, 11 mocha spoons, 12 cake spoons, 11 ice cream spoons, 11 fish forks, 12 fish knives, 11 ice cream spoons, 12 hors d'oeuvre forks, 12 escargot forks, 12 oyster forks, a petit four service, 2 sauce spoons, a cream spoon, a fish service, a leg of lamb fork and handle, a salad server, a bread knife, a cheese knife, a pie server, an ice cream server.
