Very large panoramic oil on canvas with a sublime landscape and a meandering stream in the center of the composition. Bathers seem to be enjoying the idyllic setting, while two men hidden in the bushes in the lower left enjoy the spectacle like voyeurs. This highly decorative canvas is nonetheless the work of a talented artist who has succeeded in combining great perspective and attention to detail. The work is inspired by the paintings of the Romantic period in the mid-19th century. It is signed Jacques Petit lower left. The canvas is mounted on a stretcher and framed in painted molded wood.
