Orfeo TAMBURI is an Italian painter and printmaker known for his portraits of urban life. Influenced by Cézanne, he has a passion for etching and prints with warm chromatic intonations and broad lines. In the 1960s, he was hired by FORTUNE magazine to paint portraits of American cities. He moved to Paris in 1971, illustrating the capital as it changed with the seasons. That same year, he was awarded the Gold Medal for Cultural Merit by the Italian President.
