Beautiful porcelain group in biscuit ,"The Triumph of Beauty". It depicts the goddess Venus descending from the clouds on her chariot to bathing Nereids embracing swans. Little butterfly-winged sweethearts hand her garlands of flowers from a basket. This scene is based on a model by Simon Louis Boizot for the Manufacture de Sèvres. The group stands on an oval base. A signature is visible on the terrace at the back. The biscuit shows an apocryphal Sèvres mark on the underside, most likely from the Manufacture de Samson. The delicate workmanship of the porcelain flowers and the subtlety of the decoration in the round make this a beautiful piece to add to your collection.
