Bruce Burdick (1933-2021) born and raised in California, a graduate of USC, he collaborated with Charles and Ray Eames at the Eames Office, then with publisher Herman Miller to create the Burdick Group system, of which our desk is the most emblematic, is a unique assembly of work surfaces, document management systems, storage elements and electronic equipment supports. These components are integrated along the structural framework in any configuration to meet the needs of the most varied workspaces.
The system is modular in size and configuration, and can evolve to keep pace with changing work patterns. In 1980, the Burdick Group system received design awards from the Institute of Business Designers and the Industrial Designers Society of America. The following year, Time Magazine named the Burdick Group system one of the "Best of 1981" in the Industrial Design category. According to Time, it was one of the first flexible office furniture systems to integrate computer workstations and other office electronics.
