A baluster-shaped Japanese bronze vase with a continuous relief decoration of birds on branches. The lid, adorned with foliage, is surmounted by a Foo dog. Stamped under the base. Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912). 19th century, circa 1880. Dimensions: L: 24cm, W: 24cm, H: 56cm. In good overall condition, with beautiful chasing and a golden-brown patina.
