A sumptuous Louis XV style chandelier in chased and gilt bronze, with thirty flowing arms. It is richly decorated with acanthus leaves, vine tendrils, florets, and jagged foliage in the Rococo style. The candle cups are finely carved with crosshatching and foliate motifs. With its twisted forms and its rich decoration of interlaced foliage and Rococo patterns, this light fixture is a fine example of "style" pieces made during the reign of Napoleon III.
