An elegant Louis XV style screen with three undulating panels, made of lacquered and gilded wood. The molded wooden frame, richly carved with shells, florets, and floral garlands, is lacquered in a frosted green and highlighted with gilt. Each panel of this rocaille screen is covered in a fabric with exotic floral motifs and supported by two small cabriole feet. The upper section is pierced by three beveled glass panes, set and adorned with shells and florets on the front. The central panel, slightly taller than the others, is surmounted by a garland of flowers. The panels are hinged and can be folded.
This late 19th-century production aptly illustrates this renewed affection for the Dionysian style of Louis XV, imbued with lightness, charm, and elegance.
