A white Carrara marble bust depicting a "Young Woman with a Laurel Wreath" on an Art Nouveau alabaster pedestal with canted corners. The young woman, with her expressive and graceful face, gazes upwards. Her cheekbones are hollowed and her lips slightly pursed. Her meticulously crafted eyes are enhanced by eyelashes sculpted into the marble. The cut of the marble allows a brilliant light to emanate, highlighting her delicate features. Her headdress is tied back slightly and appears to be held in place by a veil. A laurel wreath adorns her hair. This marble bust of a woman can be attributed to the circle of the sculptor Affortunato Gory.
